hello! i’m meredith
A little about me
I’m a young wife to the best husband and mom of an incredible little girl. We live in Tennessee and have our whole lives. In fact, my husband and I have gone to church together since we were four years old (though we don’t remember each other).
I’ve always had a passion for spending time in the kitchen, pulling weeds in the garden, and decorating my home. Since getting married, I’ve loved learning to cultivate a full home, full bellies, and full hearts.
Follow along as I share all I’m learning in my kitchen, my garden, and my home!

The story of the name Barefoot and Aproned…
Some of my sweetest memories were spent running barefoot in my grandmother’s garden, perched at her kitchen counter with an oversized apron draped over me. I can still close my eyes and watch her throw something together without a recipe that would nourish our whole family. Really, I’ve been barefoot and aproned as long as I can remember.
Some fun facts about me
- The first home my husband and I lived in was a farmhouse built in 1890. It was the best and the worst!
- Almost everything in my home is thrifted, antiqued, or somehow second-hand. Our least favorite piece of furniture that we own is actually the only piece we have ever bought new!
- I love to explore small towns, and I love to go on solo-trips. You’ll find me booking an AirBNB in Weaverville, NC before New York City any day.
- I love music, and hum or sing to myself constantly while I’m working in the kitchen.
